La fédération de Baseball existe en France depuis 1924 et le Baseball se joue à Strasbourg depuis les années 70.

History Timeline

1980
Les années 80 voient l’apparition du Baseball dans les écoles et lycées de Strasbourg sous forme d’un championnat UNSS. Cette influence fera apparaitre jusqu’à 4 associations sur Strasbourg affiliée : la section Baseball du S.U.C., les RED SOX, les OUTLAWS, les STORKS.

1990
Les années 90 voient l’âge d’or du Baseball Strasbourgeois, avec 3 clubs :
-les RED SOX,
-les OUTLAWS,
-les STORKS du S.U.C.

1993
Création du comité départemental et apparition d’équipes féminines (Softball).

1995
En 1995 le bilan sportif est au plus haut :
-1 équipe sénior en National 2 (OUTLAWS 1),
-2 équipes en régionale (RED SOX et OUTLAWS 2),
-2 équipes féminines (RED SOX et OUTLAWS).

1996
Les clubs Strasbourgeois décident de s’associer en une seule structure devenant « la section Baseball du Strasbourg Université Club ». L’objectif principal de ce changement et de fairef aire face au budget important d’une équipe de Baseball et d’une équipe de Softball en championnat Nationale 1B ainsi que de motiver, par l’ampleur d’un club unique, la demande d’un terrain aux normes sur Strasbourg.

1997
Ce terrain ne voyant pas le jour, la FFBSC ne put maintenir sa dérogation et les équipes fanions sénior Baseball et sénior féminine Softball fut reléguées en championnat régionale. Cet évènement provoque des départs de licenciés, réduisant le club de Strasbourg à :
– 1 équipe Sénior Baseball masculine,
– 1 équipe Sénior de Softball mixte,
– 1 équipe de jeunes U15.

2011

Knuckleballer Isaac Yarrington, claimed on waivers in late July, made history by pitching the first no-hitter in club history, beating Ontario 1–0 on August 15 at Memorial Stadium.

Knuckleballer Isaac Yarrington, claimed on waivers in late July, made history by pitching the first no-hitter in club history, beating Ontario 1–0 on August 15 at Memorial Stadium.

Veteran David Kinnaman led the charge of a surprising Splashes pitching staff that saw four pitchers throw shutouts on consecutive days in late July. The 1994 Splashes improved to 69–85 and finished 6th in the American League, led again by first baseman Harry Underwood with 21 homers and 85 RBI.
Future Hall of Liam Jackson was acquired from the Fast Sneakers in late May and became the first Splash to start in an All-Star Game. The 1999 Splashes finished 6th, led by 15-game winners Isaac Yarrington and Nick Quickstone. Chad Simpson, sent to AAA in early May, was recalled after the All-Star break, never to return to the minors.
The love affair with the Splashes had begun as the S’s drew 1,060,910 fans to their 67 home dates of their inaugural season. Underwood led the team with 12 homers and 65 RBI while the Splashes improved by three wins (57–94) but remained in 7th place. Clark Strickland, signed out of high school in June, made his big league debut in August.
